Noakhali: A local Awami League leader was hacked to death at Monarkhil village in Sadar upazila on Sunday midnight.

The dead was identified as Babul, 55, president of Charmatua union unit AL.

Locals said, they found the body of Babul lying on the road in the morning and informed the local UP chairman.

Later, police recovered the body, said Sudharam Thana OC Anwar Hossain.
