Mobile phone network at BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office was restored on Tuesday.

Sources at Khaleda’s office said the network of Grameenphone has become active since Tuesday noon. However, other networks are still disconnected.

The line of electricity at BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office was cut off at 3:00am on January 30. On the following day, connections of different mobile companies’ networks, internet, cable TV and land phone were cut off.

Following criticism from various quarters, the power connection was restored at her office after 19 hours on January 31.

Sources at the mobile phone operators said Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) on Tuesday verbally instructed the mobile operators to restore the mobile networks at the embassies.

As a result, the networks of mobile phone operators at Gulshan area were made active.

The operators also informed that it was not possible to activate or stop the network of a specific house.
