Cop's body exhumed

JHENIDAH, Feb 13: Body of sub-inspector of police Akram Hossain Liton has been exhumed after one month of his burial at Jhenidah central municipal graveyard in the town. The police of Jhenidah on Thursday afternoon exhumed the body as per an order from the court.
Shailkupa police Officer-in-Charge (OC) MA Hashem Khan said, an elder sister of Liton, Jannat Ara Parvin, on January 20 had filed a killing case with the Judicial Magistrate in the district.
OC further informed Sub-inspector Akram Hossain Liton was returning home in Jhenidah from Dhaka International Airport on his motorbike on December 28 last year. He sustained accident injury during the time at Bordah village on Jhenidah-Kushtia highway. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries when he was under going treatment there on January 13 last. Four persons including Liton's wife Banani Binte Bashir were accused in the case.
Executive Magistrate Iqbal Hossain and a medical officer of Jhenidah general hospital Dr. Arif Ahmed were present during the time. As two separate cases were filed, the court ordered to exhume the body for further post-mortem in Jhenidah Sadar hospital morgue. The body was sent to the hospital accordingly, the magistrate said.
