RAJBARI, Feb 13: A housewife committed suicide by hanging herself from ceiling bar in her bedroom at collegepara area in Goalondo upazila of the district on Thursday.
Police said the deceased was identified as Zesmin Akter, 23, daughter of Islam Ali Mollah of village Kumrakandi under Daulatdia union in Goalondo upazila of the district.
Family sources said, Zesmin was mother of a daughter; she was living at Collegepara with her younger brother and three-year old daughter. 
Her husband has been living in Singapore as migrant worker for three years; in absence of her husband, local youth Farid Sheikh, 23, was teasing her while she would go out from the house.
Younger brother Lal Chand Miah said, he went to bazaar to buy something at 12am; after some time when he came back, he saw her sister hanging from the ceiling bar in her bedroom.
After the incident, Farid Sheikh fled from the areas.
Local suspected eve-teaser Farid raped her and might have killed her and then hanged the body.
Officer in-charge (OC) of Goalondo police station confirmed the matter. 
Police recovered the body and sent it to the Sadar hospital morgue for an autopsy.
A case was filed with Goalondo police station in this connection.
