
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid made the announcement at an emergency press conference at his Hare Road residence on Saturday afternoon.
“Safety and security of our students is more important to us than holding the examinations. We have decided to reschedule the examinations considering the security threat during hartal,” the education minister added.
On February 15, the government was scheduled to hold mathematics (compulsory) under eight education boards, and English (irregular) and English 1st paper under Madrasa board, chemistry science-2 (1926, creativity) in SSC vocational under Technical Board, chemistry science-2 (8126) and chemistry science-2 (1726, creativity) and chemistry science-2 (8526, creativity) in vocational Dakhil.
Due to frequent shutdowns, SSC and equivalent examinations of February 2, 4, 8 and 10 were rescheduled while the exams scheduled for February 12 was postponed.
A total of 14,79, 266 examinees across the country have been appearing in SSC and equivalent examinations this year.
