10 killed, 40 injured in Madhya Pradesh bus accident

Madhya Pradesh:  At least 10 people were killed and over 40 others injured on Monday night when a private bus in which they were travelling in fell into a deep gorge in Machalia Ghat in neighbouring Dhar district.

The bus was on its way to Galiakot in Rajasthan from Indore when the mishap occurred. The driver of the bus lost control while traversing through Machlia Ghat following which the bus fell into a deep gorge, officials said.

Rescue operations are underway. Senior officials from Dhar and Jhabua districts have reached the spot.

Jhabua district hospital's civil surgeon R G Kaushal said that so far six dead bodies have reached the hospital and at least 40 persons have suffered injuries in the mishap.
