The International Crimes Tribunal-1 on Sunday issued arrest warrant against three persons of Kishoreganj on the allegations of crimes against humanity committed during the Liberation War in 1971.
The accused are: Gazi Abdul Mannan, M Hafiz Uddin and Azharul Islam. As members of Razakar, an infamous auxiliary outfit of the Pakistan occupation army, the trio had perpetrated crimes against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War, prosecution sources said.
The tribunal led by Justice M Enayetur Rahim issued the warrants after a hearing a petition of the prosecution.
Advocate Sultan Mahmud Simon stood for the prosecution in the hearing.
Emerging from the tribunal, prosecutor Simon told reporters that the War Crimes Investigation Agency in its preliminary investigation found the involvement of the three in killings, looting, arson and torture during the Liberation War.
"We sought arrest warrant against the three war crimes suspects for 'effective and proper investigation'. "The court heard the plea and issued the warrants."
