The Ministry of Public Administration (MoPA) is likely to probe allegations brought against the Director General of the Jatiya Muktijoddha Council (National Council of Freedom Fighters-Jamuka) regarding irregularities and misconduct.
Earlier the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs (MoLWA) had received formal complaints against the DG - Shyamapada Dey which was not investigated but forwarded to MoPA for initiating the probe.
The officials concerned of the 'Discipline and Inquiry wing' of the MoPA have been asked to investigate the allegations against Shyamapada, also an additional secretary and BCS admin cadre officer of 1982 regular batch.
MoPA Senior Secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury on Sunday told reporters that the Ministry has received a letter from the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs in connection with the issue. The officials concerned were asked to take necessary steps. "The Ministry would take necessary disciplinary actions against the DG if he is found guilty after investigation," Chowdhury added.
According to the Ministry, around 30 officials and employees of the Jamuka had recently submitted a complaint against the DG bringing eleven specific allegations to the MoLWA.
