RAJSHAHI, Feb 26: Allegation has been raised against five teachers of Pakuria High School in Jhanabad union under Mohanpur upazila of Rajshahi as they entered the job showing fake certificates.
The accused teachers are Masud Rana, son of Narul Islam, Arifur Jaman, son of Ahad Ali, Tajul Ali, son of late Akkas Ali, Md Belal, son of late Abdur Rahim, all are the residents of the upazila, and Sunita Rani, resident of Bagmara upazila.
Local sources said Pakuria High School has a reputation in the area since its establishment in 1961. But the School Committee Secretary Rajul Karim Raja and Headmaster Jasim Uddin recruited the five teachers on August 28, 2011, with fake academic certificates as they had taken bribe from them.
When contacted, the Headmaster told this correspondent that they did not have enough technology to check the authenticity of the certificates.
Rejecting the allegation of taking bribe, Jasim Uddin said that if the papers were fake, the higher authorities concerned would take necessary measures.
Dr Sheerin Sharmin, Deputy Director of Secondary and Higher Secondary Board of Rajshahi, said that they had already received an allegation in this regard. "We've also started investigation into the matter," she added.
One Najmul Haque of Baraipara area has filed a case against the five teachers with Mohanpur Police Station, the sources said.
