The Progressive Students’ Alliance called students’ strike at Dhaka University on March 2 to protest killing of writer and blogger Avijit Roy, and his wounded wife Rafida Ahmed.

The alliance will also hold demonstrations at all educational institutions across the country.

The central leaders of the alliance on Saturday announced the programmes at press conference at the Modhur Canteen of Dhaka University.

Avijit Roy was hacked to death, and his wife Rafida Ahmed was also seriously injured when unidentified assailants attacked them with sharp weapons near Teachers-Students Centre at Dhaka University on Thursday night.

As part of protesting the killing, the alliance will wear black badge on March 1, and a protest rally of students and teachers will be organised at Shahbagh in the afternoon on March 3.
