Chittagong: Director General of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Benzir Ahmed on Saturday said ongoing genocide and petrol bomb terrorism are inciting fanaticism .
"The prevailing petrol bomb terrorism provokes other violence, encourages militancy and the perpetrators want to turn the country into a militant state," the RAB chief said while talking to journalists after recovering
explosives, bomb making materials from city's Halishahor residential area.
The RAB DG however could not divulge details about the identities and AL- Qaeda or ISI connection of the arrestee for the sake of investigation. "The financers of the militants, their godfathers and full-fledged network will be cleared through detailed investigations," Benzir said.
He said fluxlike bomb making materials were found from the arrestees, which might be thought as school flux of the children, whereas, this is a deadly explosive.
A team of RAB, in a nightlong drive, rounded up four suspected militants including a female and recovered 150 kilograms of high powered explosive material, 76 powerful hand bombs, 24 bullets and training equipment.
The RAB DG claimed hand bombs, bullets, ammunitions and explosives recovered from, Hathazari, Banshkhali and Halishahor are as good as complete equipment for an army battalion.
