A Dhaka court on Tuesday placed Shafiur Rahman Farabi, who was earlier arrested, on a 10-day remand in connection with the killing of writer-blogger Avijit Roy.
Metropolitan Magistrate Rezaul Karim passed the order as police produced Farabi seeking a 10-day remand.
Earlier on Monday morning, Rapid Action Battalion members arrested Farabi, who had issued death threat to Avijit, from Jatrabari Bus Stand area in the capital.
During primary interrogation, Farabi confessed that he has been threatening Avijit for few days making online postings due to his comment 'against Islam'.
On February 26, Avijit Roy, was hacked to death and his wife injured in a criminal attack near the TSC at Dhaka University.
