Prime minister Sheikh Hasina has congratulated the Bangladesh cricket team for their quarter final berth in the World Cup cricket beating England by 15 runs.

She also greeted Mahmudullah Riad for his maiden century for the country in the World Cup history.

In a message, the cricket-lover Premier greeted the national team players, manager, coach and cricket board officials as well as Bangladeshi cricket fans at home and abroad.

She hoped that the national team would continue this success in the upcoming matches of the World Cup as well as uphold the national flag with indomitable spirit and mental strength of the Royal Bengal Tiger.

Mahmudullah became the first Bangladesh batsman to score a ICC World Cup century, guiding his team to a decent 275 for seven against England in a crucial Pool A match at Adelaide in Australia on Monday. Bangladesh won by 15 runs to knock England out of the World Cup.
