BARISAL, Mar 11: Barisal Metropolitan Court on Tuesday issued arrest warrant against BNP Senior Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman in two separates defamation cases filed by BCL and Juba League leaders and activists following his derogatory remarks on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Earlier on December 22, 2014, Nahid Serniabad, Joint Convener of Barisal Government Brajamohan College BCL unit, and Advocate Kaium Khan Kawsar, convening committee member of Awami Jubo League Barisal city unit, lodged the cases separately with the court. Barisal Metropolitan Magistrate Nusrat Jahan accepting those cases passed the an order directing Tarique to appear before the court on March 11. As the accused failed to turn up in time, the court issued the arrest warrant against him.
