
Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank (BB) Md Abul Quasem launched the new financial service as the chief guest, said a press release.
SIBL Chairman Major (Retd) Dr Md Rezaul Haque was present as the special guest, while BB Executive Director Md Saiful Islam and the bank's board members attended as guests of honour on the occasion.
SIBL Managing Director Md Shafiqur Rahman presided over the launching ceremony.
The bank's additional managing director, deputy managing directors, managers of branches and other senior executives were also present along with clients and elite of the society.
The bank will run Shari'ah Complaint micro-finance activities among the marginal people of the country's rural areas for socio-economic development and poverty alleviation with a firm objective of empowering family.
The BB deputy governor emphasised the human face approach that the banks in Bangladesh should take in their services to the people so that common people get benefit from banking service.
The central bank has taken many new initiatives keeping in mind the benefit of common people and also to protect the ecosystem from green house effect, he said.
He lauded Social Islami Bank's role in its approach to poverty alleviation from our society through family empowerment Islamic-micro finance programme.
