BCL leader shot dead in Pabna AL infighting

Pabna :  A Jubo League leader was shot dead during a clash between two groups of local Awami League at Muladuli village in Ishwardi upazila on Wednesday afternoon.

The dead was identified as Badhon Khandkar, 21, general secretary of ward 1 unit Chhatra League of Muladuli union.

Ten others were also injured in the clash as a group opened fire on another group.

ASP Siddiqur Rahman said two groups of Awami League had a dispute over establishing supremacy at a fair organized by local Hindu community on the occasion of Kali Puja.

As a sequel, the rival groups locked into a clash in the afternoon, leaving Badhan dead, he added.

The injured were admitted to upazila health complex.

Additional police and RAB personnel have been deployed as tension mounted in the area.
