Police arrested 11 leaders and activists of BNP, Jamaat-Shibir and Hizb-ut Tahrir for 'sabotage plan' from different places of the capital during a drive continuing for 24 hours till Saturday morning.

Deputy commissioner (Media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Masudur Rahman said, eight leaders and activists of BNP, two of Jamaat-Shibir and one activist of Hizb-ut Tahrir were arrested for planning subversive activities during the countrywide non-stop transport blockade, enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance, he said.

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia enforced the blockade for an indefinite period on January 5 after having failed to come out of her Gulshan office to join a planned rally of the 20-party alliance in the city to mark 'Democracy Killing Day'.
