Bangladesh National Cricket team returned home on Sunday evening after ending a successful Cricket World Cup mission in Australia.

The players have been given a royal reception at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital around 7.45 pm.

Thousands of cricket fans in the country thronged to the airport to accord receptions to the players who performed better in the World Cup-2015.

The players were also greeted by the directors of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and different socio-cultural organisations.

At a brief press conference at the airport, Bangladesh team captain Mashrafe Martuza explained the experiences of the team.

Mashrafe said all the players have tried their level best to adjust with the weather.

"If we can give more efforts, we would be able to reach better position in future," Mashrafhe told the reporters. He appreciated the management.

Bangladesh team would win every match in future if it maintains consistency, he hoped.

Bangladesh team lost to India in the quarter-finals by 109-run becoming the victims of injustice through controversial decisions by umpires.

Earlier, Tigers entered into quarterfinal defeating Afghanistan, Scotland and England in the Group matches.

The Group phase match with Australia was abandoned due to rain. The Bangladesh team played very well against New Zealand though they could not show better performances against Sri Lanka.
