UIU holds 3rd Convocation

The 3rd convocation of United International University (UIU) was held yesterday at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the capital. A total 1452 students from different disciplines were conferred undergraduate and graduate degrees while five meritorious students received Gold Medals for their excellent results this year.    
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid presided over the function while Chairperson, Board of Trustees and Founder Vice Chancellor of East West University, Prof Mohammed Farashuddin, was present as the convocation speaker.
Among others, Vice Chairman, Board of Trustees, Faridur Rahman Khan, Vice-Chancellor Prof M Rezwan Khan, Deans, heads of departments, teachers, administrative staff of UIU, educationalists and Vice-Chancellors of different universities were also present.  
In his speech Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said that private universities must take measures to remove all barriers to imparting quality higher education in their own interest. More sincere endeavors of the private universities are required to attain the desired goal. Congratulating the graduates, he urged them to work in the interests of the common people.
