
Khaleda was campaigning in favour of BNP-endorsed mayor candidate Tabith Awal who is contesting mayoral post from Dhaka north city corporation. The city corporation election is scheduled to be held on April 28.
Witnesses said when the former prime minister was addressing a rally through a hand mike in front of kitchen market of Karwan Bazar, the miscreants started throwing brick chips targeting Khaleda from nearby buildings.

Although Khaleda was unhurt, several of her security staff and journalists covering the event were injured in the attack near Petrobangla office at Karwan Bazar. Almost every vehicle in her motorcade was damaged, said Syrul Kabir Khan, a media staff of the BNP chief.
Khaleda went out for campaign without police escort on Monday. Earlier, police deployed for her security were withdrawn on Monday morning.
Khaleda was to face obstacle while she was campaigning for BNP-endorsed candidate Tabith Awal in the city's Uttara area on Sunday afternoon.
Asked about the attack during the election campaign by Khalela Zia, Election Commission Secretary Sirajul Islam said the comissoin would look into the incidents if it receives any written complaints.
"How can we take measures if we do not get any specific written complaints?" he asked.
