A BNP-blessed mayoral candidate, Tabith Awal, has expressed his annoyance with the Election Commission (EC) for the dilemma over army deployment during the Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) polls.
On Thursday while he was busy on the 15th day of his election campaign in Badda he said, "We demand a fair election. The EC is annoying us by changing its decisions frequently, it is quite impossible to hold a fair election without army deployment during the polls."
Additionally, he demanded army deployment with magistracy power in the DCC polls.  Earlier, the EC had decided not to deploy army initially for DCC polls. The army would be ready if necessary they will be deployed.
The EC would ensure the security of the all candidates but unfortunately the BNP-backed candidates are facing harassment by the ruling party men.
"The EC has warned me and Mirza Abbas, another BNP-backed mayoral candidate in Dhaka South," Tabith said.
Replying of a question he said, "Gradually, I am becoming known to the people, as the media, both electronic and the print, are focusing on me."
