Now we are living in the era of social networking. Most of the young minds think themselves social sign-uping with difference platform. They have started to believe with online. About all activities are depended on facebook or like something. However, it is a great pleasure to me to serve with the leading telecom operator in the country in digital service. I had opportunity to reach the young minds through my social media activities. Some of my earliest memories in the Grameenphone(GP) consist of sitting clueless in the meeting room, not understanding most of the tech buzzwords used during the discussions. I had to Google later to figure out what 'MSISDN' actually means (you can Google it too). Starting career in the core product team of a tech company seemed to be an irresponsible decision being a Marketing graduate. Fast forward to 2015 - I am an eager, deeply passionate Tech Geek!
Working in Tech field in Bangladesh has given me a broader sense of impact that we're making in people's lives. With the spread of affordable internet & useful digital services, our lifestyles have changed dramatically. The feeling of being a tiny part of this big wave of change in the country makes me want to do more. Technology is truly an industry that celebrates creativity, aspiration, change and passion.
On top of everything, I see Bangladesh as a land of opportunity. There is so much to offer to our 160+ MN people and we can be as inventive as we want to be. I definitely see a lot of interest among youth to be a part of this budding sector. I also see growing number of female colleagues in the GP. The best part of this industry is that one doesn't have to have a fancy engineering degree. But anybody like me can join the 'Silicon Valley' and be a change maker.
