
This is part of the earlier announced $100 million expansion plan, said a press release.
In a statement, Mashruf Habib, Managing Director of Regent Airways said, "We will start our operations to Kathmandu on July 15 with initially 3 flights a week from Dhaka. We will also be adding one more flight per week to Singapore from May 10. As a result, Regent airways will then have daily flights to Singapore from Dhaka. Weekly frequency to Bangkok via Chittagong will be increased to 4 flights per week from May 15. Tickets for all these flights are available for sale.
We have completed all documentations to start our operations to Muscat from Dhaka and Chittagong with daily flight. We expect to add Kingdom of Oman into our network by the mid of July this year, 2015. We are concentrating our growth more on International destinations" Mashruf added.
With the right track of growth, Regent Airways will be adding two Boeing 737-800 aircraft and two Embraer ERJ170 aircraft in the next seven months by phasing out the current Bombardier Dash8-Q300 aircraft and also adding Airbus 330-300 by the end of 2015. We will be using Airbus330-300 for all our long haul sectors. Pilots and Cabin crew training for these aircraft are already in place".
It started documentations to begin flights to Saudi Arabian cities of Jeddah and Riyadh as well. This will be operated with the state of the art Airbus 330-300 type aircraft to support the growing demand of employment market and pilgrim traffic.
Other cities are in considerations are Chennai, Male, Colombo, Paro, Narita and Seoul.
