The USAID and Winrock International launched Feed the Future Bangladesh Women's Empowerment Activity programme at a function in the capital on Tuesday.
Three year programme will involve for 30,000 women and 7,500 men in 5 districts Khulna, Jessore, Barisal, Barguna and Patuakhali for improving their leadership and decision making capacity, improving their daily time use and increasing social acceptance of women's empowerment, the function, was jointly organized by USAID and Winrock International, was told. Meher Afroz Chumki, State Minister of Ministry of Women and Children Affairs and Ramona EL Hamzaoui- Director of Economic Growth Officer-USAID jointly inaugurated the programme.
Chumki appreciated the programme and assured that the Ministry will provide all kinds of supports to implement this project successfully. Zainab Akhter, Chief of Party of Feed the Future Bangladesh Women's Empowerment presented the keynote paper.
