The High Court on Monday stayed for six months the admission policy of the Education Ministry that asked colleges to enroll students of higher secondary level on the basis of SSC results, allowing Notre Dame, Holy Cross and St Joseph colleges to hold tests for admission.

A High Court bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Mohammad Iqbal Kabir postponed the merit list based admission process.

The judges have stayed for six months the Education Ministry’s admission policy on admitting students based on Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination scores.

The colleges will therefore hold tests for admitting students at eleventh grade, their lawyers have said.
