Traffic from Farmgate to Mohakhali flyover in the city turned chaotic on Thursday morning when the motorcade of Chairperson of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Khaleda Zia took a wrong side from in front of from Prime Minister's Office.
The severe traffic congestion landed office-goers and other people in a serious trouble.
Khaleda Zia and her motorcade took wrong side of the busy road in the city from Prime Minister Office when she was going to appear in the court for hearing on Zia Orphanage Trust and Zia Charitable Trust graft cases against her.
Witnesses said that when Khaleda Zia's motorcade reached near Prime Minister's Office at around 9:30am suddenly her motorcade took the wrong turn to Sarakdwip. Her personal security force members blew whistle and halted other cars until Khaleda Zia passed the area.
It also caused sufferings to thousands of travelling people from Farmgate to Mohakhali flyover due to traffic congestion.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police sources said that the BNP chairperson did not inform the authorities about her travel.
During the office going hours the roads were busy. She had to wait for the traffic signal but she violated traffic rules.
