CHITTAGONG, June 21: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Special Branch of Police and his driver along with 6,80,000 pieces of yaba tablets from Lalpul area of Feni.
The arrestees were identified as Mahafuzur Rahman, 35, sub-inspector of Special Branch of Police and driver Jabed Ali, 29.
Sohel Mahamud, Assistent Director of RAB-7 said, ASI Mahfuz and his driver were held with the yaba pills, cash taka seven lakh and four mobile sets during a drive at Lalpul area at around 11 pm Saturday.
The elite force also seized a private car from their possession and the arrestees were taken to RAB 7 headquarters in Chittagong.
