Works by Humayun Ahmed to glow in this Eid with Channel i

Channel i is all set to reassert the undying appeal of masterpieces by the late Humayun Ahmed in the coming Eid. The satellite channel will continue with its tradition of telecasting at least one drama and one telefilm during every Eid ul Fitr even though the great writer breathes no more.
The drama titled 'Tithir Neel Toyale' has been directed by the late artiste's wife Meher Afroz Shaon. Riaj, Mir Sabbir, Syed Hasan Imam, Laila Hasan, Jhuna Chowdhury, Noumita Das have been cast in 'Tithir Neel Toyale'. It is scheduled to appear on the Eid day at 7.50pm on Channel i.
The telefilm bears the title 'Proyo Podrekha' and has been directed by Mohammad Ibrahim. Iresh Zaker, Jayanto Chattopadhyay, Shabnam, Fariya, Munira Mithu, Nusrat, Jewel Rana will be seen in the telefilm which will be telecasted on the third day of Eid at 2.30pm.
Even after his death at July 19, 2012 author, dramatist, screenwriter and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed continues to be regarded as Bengal's most successful cultural figure of the 21st century. He was referred to as the legend of Bangladeshi culture by Dawn. Sunil Gangopadhyay considers him to be the most popular writer of Bengali language for the past hundred years and even more dominant than Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay.
He first wrote script for the drama 'Prothom Prohor (1983)' directed by Nawazesh Ali Khan. His first drama serial was 'Ei Shob Din Ratri.' Its success was subsequently followed by comedy serial 'Bohubrihi' and historical serial 'Ayomoy.' The modern drama serial 'Kothao Keu Nei' became frenzy among the general mass. His famous movies include-'Aguner Porshmoni,' 'Shyamal Chhaya,' 'Ghetuputra Kamola' etc. 'Aguner Poroshmoni (1994)' was based on the Liberation War of Bangladesh and had won him the National Award in eight categories. Ghetuputra Kamola was selected as the Bangladeshi entry for the Best Foreign Language Oscar at the 85th Academy Awards.
Besides dramas by Humayun Ahmed Channel i's seven day long planning for Eid fiesta includes thirteen dramas and nine telefilms. The productions have star filmmakers- Rabeya Khatun, Abul Hayat, Salauddin Lavlu, Ferdous Hasan, Anisul Haq, Rezanur Rahman, Mahfooz Ahmed, Brindaban Das, Gitali Hasan, Robin Khan, Arif Khan, Akram Khan, Mostofa Kamal Raz, Koushik Shankar Das, Sagar Jahan, Shahnewaz Kakoli, Iftekhar Ahmed Fahmi, Shamim Shahed and many more in their teams.
