Chittagong Abahani's newly football committee chairman Tarafdar Mohammad Ruhul Amin on Monday gave a proposal to BFF president Kazi Salahuddin to stage Sk Kamal Gold Cup Football Tournament in Chittagong.
The Chittagong-bound club's official was paying a curtsey call to the Federation chief after taking the charge of the club. He sought help from Salahuddin on this issue.
He proposed that eight clubs of different countries of SAFF region along with the champion, runner-up and host Chittagong Abahani of the B-League would take part in the event. Also two club teams from India and one team from Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bhutan would be invited to take part in.
The international event would be staged at the edge of December this year or the beginning of January next year after SAFF football and Bangabandhu Gold Cup.
A budget of taka 10 to 15 cores was estimated to succeed the tournament.
