Main accused of Rajon murder held in Saudi Arabia

Quamrul Islam, the main accused in 13-year old boy Rajon murder case, was detained in Jeddah of Saudi Arabia.

M Rahmatullah, additional deputy commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police, told media that Quamrul would soon be brought back to the country.

Another source said, responding to the call of state minister for Foreign Affairs Sahriar Alam, who is now in Saudi Arabia, expatriate Bangladeshis caught Quamrul from Jamia area of Jeddah at about 8pm (Bangladesh time) and handed him over to police.

Meanwhile, police arrested Lipi Begum, wife of arrested accused Muhith, for interrogation.

On July 8, Samiul Islam Rajon was beaten to death by a group of people after being accused of stealing a rickshaw van at Kumargaon in Sylhet Sadar Upazila.
