Syed Ashraf to continue as AL GS: Muhith

Finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith on Thursday said Syed Ashraful Islam is very popular in Awami League and he would continue as party general secretary.

He stated that Syed Ashraful Islam would not be replaced. Lauding Ashraf, Muhith said there is no allegation against Ashraful.

The finance minister made the remark after he had hold a meeting with Association of Export Oriented Ship Building Industries of Bangladesh at the secretariat on Thursday.

Earlier, Ashraf was removed from the ministry of LGRD and cooperatives.

However, the government on Thursday gave Syed Ashraful Islam the charge of the  public administration ministry.
