CNG filling stations will remain open whole day until July 21 to facilitate motor journeys during Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
Road Transport and Bridges Division released a statement on Friday saying the power, energy and mineral resources ministry took the decision considering passengers’ comfort following request from road transport and bridges ministry.
Earlier, an inter-ministerial meeting on June 23 decided to keep the CNG filling stations open round-the-clock from July 10 to 19.
The meeting was held to discuss traffic movement during Eid also prohibited plying of trucks, covered vans and tanker-lorries on the national and regional highways three days before and after the Eid.
The vehicles carrying food commodities, perishable goods, readymade garment, pharmaceutical products, raw hide and fuel have been made exempt from the ban.
