RAJSHAHI, July 28: The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), America has expressed willingness to help Bangladeshi researchers in fighting Melanoma, a type of cancer that generally occurs on skin, but rarely occurs in mouth and eyes following tumour and Arsenic intoxication impact.
Dr Azizul Haque, Bangladesh-origin Associate Professor of Microbiology and Immunology of the MUSC, said this at a seminar titled "Immune Recognition of Melanoma," held at Rajshahi University (RU) on Monday organized by RU Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department.
With a view to increasing skills and developing research activities on cancer, the MUSC has taken initiatives for different training activities in developing and underdeveloped countries. Of those organisations and institutions selected, RU was chosen as a research centre of Bangladesh, he added.
The researchers of Rajshahi and Chittagong area would be able to do research work under this project.
Dr Azizul, however, called authority for infrastructural development of RU for research purpose.
