Three men, abducted from Fakirerpool in the city within a span of four days in March this year, are yet to be rescued.
Some unidentified youths introducing themselves as members of Detective Branch (DB) of police picked up printing and press businessman Mazaharul Islam Rubel, and employees Razu Islam and Shawon on March 16 and March 20 respectively.
Families left no stone unturned to know the whereabouts of the missing persons but did not find any clue.
Now, the families are living in fear if the abductors have killed them and have con cealed their bodies.
Family members blamed police for their 'apathy' to find out the abducted men.
Rokunuzzaman Rokon, brother of Rubel, said that some youths introducing themselves as DB personnel picked up his brother from their residence at 291, Fakirerpool on March 16.
"The abductors told us to contact Ramna Thana two hours after their departure. We went there. But he was not found," he said.
Rokon said that they contacted DB office at Mintu Road, Motijheel Police Station and other places but in vain.
A general diary was lodged with Motijheel Thana in this connection on March 30.
Sumaiya Islam Joti, wife of the victim said in tear, "Their three-month old younger daughter could not see her father, while three and a half years old elder daughter Muntah always cries for her father."
The victim's mother Rahima Begum alleges Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Motijheel Police Station Forman Ali behaved badly when they went to see him.
"He asked us to look for our son," she says.
Forman could not be contacted despite attempt made by this correspondent on Sunday.
On March 20, Razu and Shawon were picked up by some youths the same way Rubel was apprehended from near the Fakirerpool Water Tank.
Rumana, wife of Razu, said that she filed a GD with Motijheel Thana on March 22.
"Police are found to be showing reluctance to find out my husband," she claimed.
She appealed for the rescue of her husband.
Shahin, brother of Shawon, said they are now apprehensive if the abductors have killed him.
