Police in their anti-drug drives arrested 37 alleged drug dealers from the capital in 24 hours till 6am on Wednesday. Besides, law enforcers arrested three robbers along with four sharp weapons from Motijheel area during the period. Sources at the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Headquarters said police conducted the drives in Ramna, Lalbagh, Motijheel, Tejgaon, Mirpur, Gulshan and Uttara areas. During the drives, the law enforcers arrested the 37 people for their alleged involvement in illegal drug trading. Some 4,680 Yaba tablets, 65 bottles of Phensidyl syrup, 692 sachets of heroin (Brown sugar), 2.750 grams of hemp and 16 bottles of local liquor were also recovered from their possession. Meanwhile, a team of Motijheel police station arrested three suspected robbers-Md Osman alias Anwar Hossain, Md Faridul Islam alias Farid and Md Tariqul Islam-from Motijheel area around 11:40pm on Tuesday. Four sharp weapons were also recovered from their possession. During preliminary interrogation, the arrested robbers revealed that they had long been involved in committing various crimes. ?UNB
