Man held with 700 bottles of phensedyl in car sporting 'MP' sticker

Jessore, 23 August:  Police on Sunday seized banned Indian cough syrup Phensedyl from a car with the sticker used on parliamentarians' cars at Khajura on Jessore-Magura. 
The owner of the private car, Firoz Alam from Lakkhipur, who was driving the car, was arrested at Khajura on Jessore-Magura road.
 An assistant Sub-Inspector Khajura Police Camp told this correspondent that a police patrol asked the car to stop in Bagharparha area on sunday afternoon.
 The car ignored the police patrol but was stopped at a barricade set up some seven kilometres away towards Magura, police said.
According to the police official, 700 bottles of the banned syrup were found in the car.   A case was filed over the seizure, he added.
