Jessore : Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Monday seized 239 turtles of rare species Baropota frontier under Benapole port police station.

Lt Col Abdur Rahim, Commanding Officer of 23 Battalion of BGB, said acting on a tip, the paramilitary troop raided the area at noon and seized the tortoises worth Tk 2 millions.

“The turtles were handed over to the Wildlife Conversation Department of Khulna,” he added.
