
Deputy director of Department of Agriculture Extension, Netrakona, said this season, a total of 1,15,790 hectares have been brought under T aman cultivation. Of which, 8,200 hectares went under water.
Meanwhile, water level of main rivers of the district like Someshwari, Kangsa, Dhalai, Fuleshwary and Pateshwary are registering a rise.
Netrakona WDB executive engineer Khushi Mohan said the River Kangsa is flowing above 100 cm while Someshwary over 70cm of the danger level respectively.
Low-lying areas of the district town were also inundated by incessant rain for last two days, increasing sufferings of the dwellers.
