A three-day long AKM Shamsuzzoha Memorial 39th National Athletics Tournament-2015 is going to kicks off today (Thursday) at 10:00am at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operative Division State Minister Moshiur Rahman Ranga, MP will inaugurate the event as the chief guest.
About five hundred athletes from across the country will take part in the event that was titled after the name of Language Martyrs and Swadhinata Padak Awardees AKM Shamsuzzoha.
A press meet was held to brief the media about the event on Wednesday at the Lounge of Bangabandhu National Stadium.
During the briefing session, Federation's general secretary Ibrahim Changish criticised about how the Cycling Federation is damaging the Athletics track at the Bangabandhu National Stadium Ground.
Ibrahim said that cycling on the athletics track is damaging the expensive track and the responsible federation has no authorisation to use the stadium from NSC.
The general secretary also informed that an academy named Sk Kamal Athletics Academy will be established soon.
