Body of missing BGB man recovered in Bandarban

Bandarban: The body of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) member Jewel Rana, who went missing two days ago, was recovered from the Sangu River in Thanchi upazila on Saturday afternoon.

A rescue team comprised of navy, army and fire fighters recovered the body from the river in Boropathor area two days after he went missing in a boat capsize in the same area.

The body is likely to be brought to Bandarban Cantonment via Thanchi BGB camp. The first namaj-e-janaza for Jewel is scheduled to be held at Bandarban Cantonment.

BGB sector commander Waliur Rahman said after the namaj-e-janaza, the body would be sent to his village home at Goyespur union in Chuadanga.

Jewel Rana had been returning to Thanchi in Bandarban after ending an anti-terrorism drive in Boromodak border area.
