3 killed in Narsingdi road accident

Narsingdi: Three people were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a jeep at Rainadi on Dhaka-Sylhet
highway in Narsingdi Sadar upazila on Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Dr Sirajul Islam, 58, a resident of Moghbazar in the capital, his daughter’s father-in-law Adbul Khaleq, 60, and jeep driver Antu, 30.

Police said Sirajul along with Abdul Khaleq was going to Brahmanbaria by the jeep on Sunday morning.

When the jeep reached Rainadi, it collided head-on with a truck, leaving them and the jeep driver injured on the spot.

They were whisked off to a local hospital first and then shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) as their condition
deteriorated.

However, the trio succumbed to their injuries at the DMCH.

In-charge of Madhabdi Police Camp Shah Alam confirmed the incident.
