BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia reached London on Wednesday on nearly a two-week personal tour for her eye treatment and celebrating Eid-ul-Azha there with her family members.
A regular flight of Emirates Airlines carrying Khaleda Zia landed at the Heathrow Airport around 7:15am local time on Wednesday, her media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan told UNB.
Quoting UK Chapter BNP Khasruzzaman, he said Khaleda's eldest son Tarique Rahman along with party leaders received her with bouquets at the VIP lounge of the airport.
He said it was a very emotional moment when Khaleda and Tarique first met each other at the airport as they hugged each other in tearful eyes. Khaleda kissed her son and adored him touching his head. They spent some time at the VIP lounge and enquired the health condition of each other.
It was the first meeting of the BNP chief with her eldest son after the death of her younger son Arafat Rahman Koko who died in Malaysia on January 24 this year. Later, Tarique, who has been staying since September 2008, drove her mother to hotel Sofitel.
Khaleda's adviser Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, personal secretary ABM Abdus Sattar and party leader Abdul Awal Mintoo's son Tabith Awal accompanied her. ?UNB
