But to eat intelligently is an art.”
− Francois de La Rochefoucauld.
The three words are cut and dried in the given statement − (a) Eat, (b) Necessity and (c) Art, making a doubt to show the true meaning of the statement. It’s a relative saying having a hallucinate gape to realize the gap filling word to mean the bold meaning styled “Who are the artists?” to match the statement by means of clearing the absolute meaning of the given statement.
The doubt solving role performers in the society are the “Nutritionists” in the digital age of our country.
Nutritionists are the prime artists to sketch out nutrition planning sorting basic four food groups and modified food groups to boost
specific foods selection for the consumers' healthy eating trend toattain body growth maintenance, diseases protection and dietary
energy yielding meeting metabolism completion. Nutritionists are the advisors to achieve the nutritional goals for sound living running the three phases −
(a) Foods consumption,
(b) Splitting foods into the nutrients
and
(c) Nutrients' traveling to different parts of the body through bloodstream to be used as fuel and many other purposes for proper body functioning.
Nutritionists’ first and foremost aim is foods choosing which is proved beyond doubt
realizing the duo renowned concepts as − (a) “Man is what he eats.” (Quoted by Ludwing Feuerbach, a Greek Philopher) and (b) “Don’t wish a glass of milk establishing the wine industry.” (Quoted by Mawlana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani, the greatest Bangladeshi political icon).
Nutrition is the “Life Science” interpreting the interaction of nutrients and other food substances to boost proper growth and sound health maintenance. The government is obliged to ensure the right to adequate healthcare and nutritional wellness to all the rural and urban people irrespective of cast, creed, income, gender and religion across our country as per section 18 (A) of the Bangladeshi Constitution lowering the prevailing malnourishment intensity in our society. The government's taken bid to improve nutritional status of the population is at stake by far by means of malpractice, faulty planning and implementing disorders.
Nutritional wellness is the 3 dimensional splendid tales ought to be assured through the combined cyclic effort of the nutritionists, doctors and nurses kept at their chambers. They aren’t the birds of a feather or they’re in bad blood but they’re bosom friend on a common track in order to the ailment recovery arrangements.
1. Nutritionists’ role: The Nutritionists’ role is in supreme necessity for the people’s health and nutritional care at both in sound condition as well as in sickness.
(a) Normal Diet: Balanced diet planning and health advice while sound health prevailed to sustain wellness.
(b) Therapeutic Diet: Palatable diet planning and suggestion to overcome the specific hosted sickness.
2. Doctors’ role: Doctors checked the malnourished states and conditions to prescribe medicine and advised some measures to recovery of the diseases.
3. Nurses’ role: Nurses care the health care as rule to nutritionists and doctors as a whole maintaining their professional ethics to gain absolute wellness from sickness as soon as possible.
Ours is a developing country with some 150 million population, 26% of whom are living below national poverty line with the world's highest population density containing population doubling rate 25 to 30 years and Total Fertility Rate (TFR) 2.9. Some 80% population living in rural areas are greatly deprived of health and nutritional care as there is a tendency of doctors and nurses to sprint their professionalism in urban areas
shifting from the rural counterparts of the country. On the other hand, the nutritionists' are in boss’ mood adapting low salaried jobs in Chars Livelihoods Programmes (CLPs) in different Non Government Organisations (NGOs) accepting deprivation to get a chance of government jobs at all in our motherland. The initiatives taken by
Bangladesh National Plan of Action for Nutrition (BNPAN), Bangladesh National Nutrition Council (BNNC), Centre for Nutrition and Food Security (CNFS), National Nutrition Policy (NNP), and National Nutrition Service (NNS) are in nip in the bud in spite of taking different steps in multiple times keeping the nutritionists out of their health
and nutritional care schemes.
“The government has given the highest priority on nutrition and healthcare,” said our honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina while addressing her speech in different discussions to inaugurate different health programs. Mohammad Nasim, the honorable Health Minister, has also given different assurance to implement safe public health and nutrition. State Minister for Health Zahid Malek and Director General of Family Planning Department Nur Hossain Talukder were also the spokesmen at different health programs keeping their mum on nutritionists’ adherence in the health and nutritional arena fighting shy of the nutritionists’ salient role on health and nutrition sectors.
According to different sources, our government is recruiting more and more doctors and nurses in public hospitals and clinics to shrink the ratio with our large population, announced “National Nutrition Policy”.
I’m in a cart! I can’t help making a limelight of an ever popular fable as – A newly married couple was trying to make a special dish following a recipe book buying from the local library. All the ingredients are poured on the pan not setting fire. Cooking remains incomplete! Our government has taken different plans to implement “National Nutrition Policy” keeping the Nutritionists out of the policy implementing syllabus as like as the fable concerned anew married couple. The government accedes to appoint just only the doctors and nurses are relating to carry coal to New castle. What a horror have I seen? It is as like as arranging cart before the horse!
I’m not in abusiveness towards doctors and nurses. I’m on the concept of giving due honor and toll to all the professionals for our country’s interest. I just want to memorize the addition of nutritionist in health and nutritional care schemes.
There are huge nutritionists in almost all the public and private hospitals, clinics and educational institutions in the developed countries to attain nutritionally sound Childs, Youths, Adults and Geriatrics. So an all out measure is essential for recruiting nutritionists in all the public hospitals, clinics and health care complexs through the BCS procedure or Health Ministry's recruitment advertisement to meet a drastic turning point in achieving the physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being of our citizens aiming to turn tail the brown study in view of health and nutritional soundness in Bangladeshi population before long.
