
In Satkhira, A college teacher was killed and three people injured in a head-on collision between a bicycle and a motorbike at Goalpota intersection on Kaliganj-Kadamtola road in Kaliganj upazila on Saturday evening.
The deceased was identified as Shusanta Sarker, 46, son of late Nepal Chandra Sarker, a resident of Atapur village and an assistant professor of Bangla Department of Shaymnagar Atarjan Mohila Mohabiddaloy.
Witnesses said Shusanta was returning to his home from Kadamtola Bazar riding on a bicycle.
When he reached Goalpota intersection, a speeding motorbike, coming from the opposite direction, hit his bicycle around 7pm, leaving him dead on the spot and three others injured.
In Nilfamari, an youth identified as Nur Nabi, 24, was killed as a bus hit his bicycle in EPZ area on Nilfamari-Sayedpur road of the district on Saturday evening.
Officer-in-charge of Sayedpur Police Station Ismail Hossain said the accident took place as a passenger carrying bus hit Ismail in the area around 6:30pm, leaving him dead on the spot.
In Kushtia, a human hauler driver was killed as his vehicle collided head-on with another human hauler at Motijheel intersection in Daulatpur upazila on Saturday evening.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Mamin, 35, son of Mafu of Gopalnagar village in Gangni upazila of Meherpur district.
In Pabna, Masud Rana, 35, son of Emadul Haque of Chanchkair village in Gurudaspur upazila of Natore district, was killed as a CNG-run auto-rickshaw hit his motorbike at Chatmohor.
Witnesses said Masud, an official of Pran Dairy, was hit by CNG-run auto-rickshaw while he was going to his office riding on a motorbike, leaving him injured.
Later, he succumbed to his injuries at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) around 7pm.
In Mymensingh, two people died on the spot and three others sustained injures as a Mymenshing-bound bus collided with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw from opposite direction in Maijbagh area of the district town around 3pm on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Hazrat Ali and Babul Shikdar of the district town.
The injured were admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
In Faridpur, a Dhaka-bound bus of ‘Greenline Paribahan’ from Gopalganj collided head-on with a truck on Dhaka-Khulna highway at Gazaria in Nagarkanda upazila around 10am, leaving a bus passenger dead on the spot and six others injured.
The injured were taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
In another accident, a child, Badshah Munshi, 3, son of Yusuf Munshi of Algadia village in Nagarkanda upazila died on the spot and three others sustained injuries following a collision between two human haulers on Joybangla road in the same upazila on Friday night.
