Japanese national killing: 3 sued

Rangpur: Police filed a case against three unidentified people with Kaunia Police Station on Saturday night in connection with the killing of a Japanese national at Alutari in Kaunia upazila on Saturday morning.

Officer in-charge of Kaunia Police Station Rezaul Karim said the case was filed around 10:30pm on Saturday.

Earlier, on Saturday morning Japanese national Hoshi Kunio, 65, was gunned down by two masked gunmen.

Hoshi who sustained two bullets in his chest was taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Police arrested four people -- Zakaria, Humyan Kabir, Munnaf and Murad-- from the area suspecting their involvement in the killing. They hail from different areas of the city.

The incident was reported barely a week into the killing of an Italian national in the capital.
