Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is going to inaugurate two halls of Chittagong University (CU) - Janonetri Sheikh Hasina Hall and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall - through video conferencing from her official residence at Ganobhaban around 11:00am today (on Thursday).
She is also expected to inaugurate bridges, roads and three power plants among other things.
With the inauguration of these power plants, 476MW electricity will be added to the national grid and the country would go one step ahead in fulfilling the present government's commitment towards ensuring power for all by 2021.
The power plants are Ashuganj 225MW Combined Cycle Power Plant, United, Ashuganj 200MW Modular Power Plant and Ashuganj Midland 51MW Power Plant, said a press release. She will also inaugurate Balbhadra Bridge and lay foundation stone of Morail Rail Crossing Underpass in Brahmanbaria.
She is also expected to inaugurate the Kajir Bazar Bridge and lay foundation stone of Lalbag-Salutikor-Companiganj-Bholaganj airport bypass road in Sylhet.
She will also inaugurate Noyakandi, Kitingchar and Saturia bridges and lay the foundation stone of upgrading construction of the four-lane highway of Hemayetpur-Singair-Manikganj in Manikganj.
Besides, she will also inaugurate the Postogola Government Modern Flour Mills and activities of Bangladesh Safe Food Authority through video conferencing.
