BRAHMANBARIA, Oct 20: Police say they suspect miscreants used gunpowder to set fire to a bus in Brahmanbaria Sadar.
Sadar Police Station OC Akul Chandra Biswas said no one was injured in the arson on Tuesday morning at Medda bus terminal.
Brahmanbaria Bus Owners' Association chief Md Alamgir Mia said miscreants sprinkled gunpowder and set fire to the bus.
The vehicle was badly damaged in the fire before locals could put it out, he added. Police say motive behind the arson is unclear. "We're investigating the incident," OC Biswas said.
Hundreds of vehicles were set afire during the BNP-led alliance's three-month agitation earlier this year. More than one hundred people were killed, mostly in fire bombings. Similar attacks had also taken place during the alliance's agitation before the 2014 national election. ?
