
The former MP from Savar was picked up from his Dhaka home early on Sunday, said Savar Police OC Md Kamruzzaman.
“He was wanted on several charges of violence,” he told bdnews24.com.
Dhaka’s Shahbagh Police Station OC Abu Bakar Siddique said a team of Savar police nabbed the BNP leader from his home at Paribagh.
During the BNP-Jamaat alliance’s agitation before the 2014 national election, a bus was fire-bombed in Savar leaving three people burnt and one of them died later.
Savar police filed a case over the incident and named Salahuddin as the prime suspect.
He is named in several other cases filed over violence during the pre-election agitations.
