On the killing of publisher Faisal Arefin Dipan, his father former Dhaka University professor Abul Kashem Fazlul Haque expressed his deepest anger and frustration and said he bears no grudge against those who have killed his son and will not seek justice for the killing.
"I have no allegation against the killers. I do not want justice for his murder as the matter is totally political and cultural," said the father of the slain publisher and added, "What will happen by seeking justice. Nothing will happen if anybody is hanged or not."
The former DU professor of the Bengali Department made the comments while talking to journalists at the Square Hospital premises.
He said, "As per the provisions, I shall have to file a case in connection with the murder of my son. But I do not want justice for it."
He suspects that the killers of writer Abhijit might have been killed his son as his son was one of the publishers of Abhijit works.
Dipan's body was found lying in a pool of blood inside the office of Jagriti publishing house on the third floor of Aziz market in the city.
The attack was similar in manner to attack carried out on Shuddhwashawr owner Tutul and two bloggers Tareque Rahim and Ranadipam Basu in Lalmatia hours earlier.
