
Police said the 50-year old foreigner is identified as Dr Piero. He is a physician and working in a local Missionary hospital.
Kotwali police SI Abul Hasnat said three miscreants riding on a motorcycle opened fire on Piero in BRTC Bus stand area at about 8:30 am when he was going to the town from Suihari Catholic Church, leaving him injured.
Police hunt is on to nab the culprits, he added.
He was admitted to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital.
Hospital sources said Piero received a bullet on his neck.
Earlier on September 28, Italian citizen Cesare Tavella was shot dead in capital's Gulshan area while Japanese national Kunio Hoshi was gunned down in Rangpur on October 3, this year.
